teams with Simon malls
World-renowned pastry chef Ewald Notter gives sugar decorating
demonstrations, and shoppers go for the world record in eating M&M’s
with chopsticks
Orlando, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2006) - Dessert lovers lend their
taste buds to a good cause on Sunday, September 17, when top area confectioners,
restaurants and bakeries serve their finest creations at the 2nd Annual
Dessert Lover’s Delight at The Florida Mall and Seminole Towne
Center. World-renowned pastry chef, Ewald Notter, offers demonstrations
in chocolate and sugar decorating. All ticket proceeds go towards high
school scholarships for ProStart-to-Career Program and Simon Youth Foundation’s®
Education Resource Center.
Five-dollars buys four tickets and allows locals to sample a mouth-watering
array of cookies, cakes, candies and desserts from over twenty local
restaurants, confectioners and bakeries.
Highlights include:
· Chef Ewald Notter offers chocolate and sugar
demonstrations at The Florida Mall
· Cake decorating competition among three Pro-Start high school
teams at
The Florida Mall
· Ice-cream sandwich eating contest provided by Blue Bell Creameries
at both malls
· Cake decorating competition among shoppers provided by Sprinkles
· Children’s cookie stacking contest at both malls
· M&M’S eating contest with chopsticks provided by
M&M’S WORLD®– going for the world record at both
malls
Lucky participants at The Florida Mall and Seminole Towne
Center have the chance to beat the world record in eating M&M’s
with chopsticks. In 2004, UK resident Katherine Ratcliffe took the record
by eating 170 bite-size candies at the Guinness World RecordsTM 2005
Roadshow. M&M’s provided by M&M’S WORLD®.
World-renowned pastry chef, chocolate and sugar artist
and founder of the Notter School of
Confectionary Arts in Orlando, Ewald Notter, will demonstrate chocolate
and sugar decorating techniques at The Florida Mall. Audience members
can ask questions about his craft. Notter is the leading expert in modern
day confectionary arts.
